The development of Catilin's third generation catalyst, Biodiesel Catalyst SeriesT300, has reached a milestone and we are pleased to announce that the catalyst is commercially available. The catalyst, which is granular, is catalytically stable and may be reused many times.

Catilin's technology may be used in existing plants utilizing the same reactor configuration. The feedstock, methanol and T300 catalyst are combined in a continuously stirred reactor. The optimal catalyst loading level (catalyst/oil ratio) is dependent upon the residence time and can be determined by Catilin technical staff. The catalyst is most effective under standard operating conditions with temperatures in the 150 - 160F range. The first stage reactor effluent, which will contain unconverted oil, products and catalyst, enters a separator where the catalyst is removed and recycled to the reactor. The catalyst free stream enters a second reactor system, where the reaction to methyl esters is completed. The second stage reactor effluent is then routed to a second stage separator section, where the catalyst is recycled, and products are separated and the biodiesel is treated in a single stage system to produce ASTM/EN specification biodiesel.

Catilin offers its customers a complete technical service program to help support their operation.
